Roles & Skills: Creative Coding, Conceptual Artist, Web Scraping
Interactive work that reflects about the possibilities of dialogue with the past and future.
Constructed from scrapped data of public letters available on the FutureMe project website, in which people can write letters and receive them years later, this work invites the public to collectively (re)assemble a letter, word by word, in a search to reconstruct a deconstructed narrative of scattered memories and thoughts.
This art mixes dozens of personal letters from different people around the world but, in essence, explores feelings that seem to be linked to human nature itself. Like the experience of flipping through a stranger’s personal documents, FutureMe encourages the interactor to move towards opening up to vulnerability and even relating to the other’s feelings, thoughts and desires.
