Micaelle (Mica) Lages is a Brazilian multimedia creative, technologist, producer and researcher based in Brooklyn, NY.
She holds a Masters in Interactive Telecommunications (ITP) from NYU and a BA in Cinema and Audiovisual. Her creations include expanded audiovisual experiences with a special interest in interactivity and immersion works. Other explorations involve AI and Machine Learning, 360 videos, AR, projection mapping and human-computer interaction. Her research dives into concepts as magic, rituals, the intertwined relations between nature and the digital and other explorations that combine art, design and technology. She is the co-founder and creative director at thecode, a creative studio; a member of the international women’s collective VJs Multimanas; and a member of TATO- Laboratory of Research in Images, Bodies and Afections.
Her portfolio includes works as a filmmaker, director of art, creative director and producer, with pieces being selected to be showcased at national and international festivals such as Ojo Móvil (Peru) and FirstTime Filmmaker (UK).
